CogAT Quantitative Battery measures numerical reasoning in ways that go beyond traditional math skills. For Grade 6 students, this section evaluates the ability to understand relationships between numbers, solve problems using logic, and work efficiently under test conditions—all without relying on advanced formulas or procedures. 

This battery includes three question types: Number Analogies, Number Puzzles, and Number Series. Each type requires a different cognitive skill, but all share a common goal: determining whether students can reason with numbers, not just manipulate them. 

Number Analogies ask students to identify the relationship between two numbers and apply that same relationship to a new pair. Number Puzzles present equations with missing elements, requiring logical deduction to find the unknown. Number Series tests pattern recognition across sequences.
